Overnight, from 8 pm – 8 am. Volunteers oversee residents and assist with their needs. This is best shift because you get to sleep and the residents make you coffee in the morning!
-
Evenings – from 4 pm – 8 pm. Volunteers help by answering the phone, fulfilling individual needs of residents and overseeing resident check-in.
-
Sundays – between 12 pm – 4 pm, volunteers assist with individual resident needs, answer phones and keep the doors open so residents can stay in all day.
Volunteering is not hard. The people at The Haven are just regular people like you that have had some circumstance happen in their life to make them become homeless. They are not dangerous people. They are not addicts or alcoholics, although at times we do have folks that are in recovery. In order to stay at The Haven, individuals agree to refrain from using during this time.
Volunteering is really easy. Especially overnights. You get to sleep and spend the night away from home. It’s simple. You are able to visit with residents, provide them with soap, shampoo if needed. You answer the phone. Anyone can do it that is over the age of 18. We have volunteers in their 70’s and 80’s that spend the night! We would love to have you join our team.
